On February 18th 2013, Mr. Fadi CHEHADE, President and CEO of ICANN, visited CNNIC with his senior team. Mr. Xiangyang HUANG, Director of CNNIC, accompanied them for the visit. Academician Qiheng HU, Honorary Chairman of CNNIC Steering Committee and Chairman of Internet Society of China, Mr. Xinmin GAO, Deputy Chairman of Internet Society of China, as well as Mr. Hualin QIAN, Investigator of Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the meeting. 

Director Xiangyang HUANG introduced CNNIC to Fadi and his team and showed the operation of national domain name and the IDC. Besides, the CNNIC group presented the recent main work of CNNIC. Director Xiangyang HUANG expressed that CNNIC attached great importance to the cooperation with ICANN and hoped that both parties could continuously enhance mutual understanding and promote win-win cooperation. 

Moreover, Chairman Qiheng HU introduced Internet Society of China and Deputy Chairman Xinmin GAO explained the current China’s Internet industry to the ICANN visitors.

Fadi said that ICANN paid close attention to the rapid development of China’s Internet and thought highly of integrating into China. Since CNNIC is the representative of China’s domain name industry, ICANN greatly expected to have deeper and more multi-level cooperation with it in the future.
