China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) will undertake the work of the next Asia Pacific Top Level Domains Association (APTLD) Secretariat from 1st July 2013 until 30th June 2015 in an effort to support APTLD in operating its Secretariat. 

As one of the founding members of APTLD, CNNIC has been actively involved in the APTLD related work and activities. In terms of international domain names, domain name registration management, domain name security protection and other fields, CNNIC and APTLD have had fruitful exploration and practice. 

For a long time CNNIC has been actively carrying out broad cooperation with the Internet organizations and institutions in various countries, and building a more open environment for international exchanges. As an important manifestation of its social responsibilities, CNNIC supports APTLD in operating its Secretariat, which will further promote in-depth cooperation and communication in respect of domain name technology and policy between APTLD members. 

APTLD is an organization for ccTLD (country-code Top Level Domain) registries in Asia Pacific region. Originally established in July 1998, APTLD is mainly formed by national and regional top level domain name institutions in Asia Pacific region. Currently, having 36 full members and 15 associate members, APTLD pursues the information exchange between its members regarding the application technology development of domain names. APTLD works as the forum of information exchange regarding technological and operational issues of domain name registries in Asia Pacific region. APTLD fosters and elevates participation of AP ccTLDs in these global fora, as well as acting in the best interest of APTLD members in global Internet policy making process.
