CNNIC IP Address Space Management Policy Proposals Reached Consensus in APNIC 31
CNNIC attends APNIC meetings and participates in policy discussion actively and regularly, and cooperates with experts from other communities in policy development; the two policy proposals reached consensus are:
Prop-094: Removing renumbering requirement from final /8 policy
It is co-authored by JPNIC's Izumi Okutani and CNNIC's Terence Zhang Yinghao.
Prop-093: Reducing the minimum delegation size for the final /8 policy
It is co-authored by Randy Bush, Andy Linton, Philip Smith and Terence Zhang Yinghao.
Prop-094 makes it more convenient for ISPs to receive IP address allocations from APNIC; prop-093 makes it more convenient for gTLD, ccTLD and IXP (Internet Exchange Points) operators to receive IP address assignments from APNIC.
The proposal success indicates CNNIC's international cooperation effort yields satisfactory results, the proposals allow more effective and fair allocation of the remaining IPv4 addresses, it's beneficial to China as well as other communities in the Asia Pacific region.
