The Delegation Led by the President of APNIC Visited CNNIC
On April 8, 2011, the delegation led by Paul Wilson, President of Asia-Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), visited CNNIC, and they were accompanied by Mr. Xiangyang HUANG, Director of CNNIC, and Mr. Fangyu LIAO, Deputy Director of Administrative Office of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The year of 2011 marks the year that IPV4 is used up, and in February the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) announced that the world's IPv4 addresses had all been allocated. During the visit, both sides exchanged in-depth ideas with respect to the cooperation in “post-IPv4 era”, as well as the promotion of the development of IPv6 in China. APNIC introduced IPv4 addresses’ rapid running out in the Asia-Pacific Region and the address applications in China. APNIC indicated that APNIC would further strengthen the exploration of IPv6 address allocation. CNNIC expressed its gratitude for APNIC’s support in IP address application, and anticipated further exchange and cooperation with APNIC.
